First dates are tough. For introverts like me, the very thought of sitting one-on-one with someone who is practically a stranger can be a bit of a nightmare. Most of us don’t like talking about ourselves in the first place so we get nervous and say dumb things.Then you have the extroverts on the opposite side who like to talk. They get nervous, too, but then have the tendency to say a lot more than intended.
You and The Younger Brother could have really good rapport for the most part but likely it’s because he acts more like your younger sibling than a boyfriend. However, he doesn’t tend to have the emotional maturity to be a compassionate and caring partner.
The phrase “not-yet-married” actually tends to grate on my nerves a little bit at times. And guess what? Some people in church circles seem bent upon using it in lieu of “single” or “unmarried” to my eternal dismay.
